Carl Palmer has been at the forefront of the contemporary music scene for over 30 years when he became a rock superstar as one third of the British progressive rock trio EMERSON LAKE & PALMER.

In ELP, and again in the 1980’s when he co-founded another platinum band ASIA, Carl Palmer has been the driving force behind dozen’s of rock’s most memorable recordings. With his powerhouse drumming and impeccable showmanship, Carl Palmer has remained a favourite of music fans Worldwide.

Carl Palmer was born in March 1950 to a musically inclined family and took to playing the drums at age 11. By the time he was 16 Carl was playing professionally with R’n’B legends Chris Farlowe & The Thunderbirds. After two years he joined The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown and then in 1969, Carl along with keyboard player Vincent Crane formed ATOMIC ROOSTER. The growing progressive rock scene immediately embraced Palmer’s lightening fast drum solo’s matched only by Crane’s manic keyboard playing style. Atomic rooster enjoyed chart success with their self titled first album and two singles “Tomorrow Night” and “Devil’s Answer”.

In the Spring of 1970 Carl received a call from keyboard player Keith Emerson, and ELP were born and soon grew to be the premier progressive rock band of the time. With ELP, Carl was to contribute to the sales of over 35 million records with “Lucky Man”, “Karn Evil 9” and “Fanfare For The Common Man” among the hits that came from the bands 7 platinum albums. When ELP disbanded in 1980,Carl formed his own, briefly lived band PM, before he was approached to join Steve Howe, Jeff Downes and John Wetton in Asia, who went on to become the biggest selling rock band of the 80’s, enjoying huge hits throughout the World with “Heat Of The Moment” “Only Time Will Tell” and “Sole Survivor”. The bands self titled debut album is an essential purchase for any enthusiastic rock fan! From 1988 – 1991, Carl worked again with Keith Emerson before the inevitable ELP reunion took place in 1992.

For the next six years ELP toured the World, picking up where they had left off, releasing a further two albums “Black Moon” and “In The Hot Seat”. In 2000 Carl enjoyed a brief reunion with John Wetton in QANGO but despite two short tours, enthusiastically welcomed, and the release of a live CD, the band have been put on hold whilst Carl explores other avenues. In July 2000 a Carl Palmer Anthology was released. The CD features a number of new tunes and it is those tunes that Carl has put a new band together to promote.

AN EVENING WITH CARL PALMER will feature guitarist Paul Bielatowicz and bassist Stuart Clayton two of the most exciting talents to emerge in the U.K for a very long time. The spectacular stage show will also feature all the “hits” of Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Following a successful run of dates in 2005 Carl will be back in November as he continues to promote his latest CD “WORKING LIVE – Volume 2”, the follow up to the highly successful 2003 “Volume 1” release. 2006 proved a very busy year for Carl Palmer – a full U.S. tour in the Spring was followed in the Summer by a U.S. tour with the reformed ASIA – then following a brief rest Carl toured the U.K. with his band and then performed selective U.K. dates with Asia. Enjoy an evening with an Internationally known showman who has thrilled rock fans with his dazzling speed and mastery of drumming techniques. His power onstage are just as compelling nowadays as ever. He remains “the drummers drummer”. Not to be missed!
